Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz vanilla cake mix)
  • 1 can (21 oz strawberry pie filling)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese with vanilla extract and sugar until smooth.
  3. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly in the baking dish.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
  5. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer; do not stir.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix evenly.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and edges bubble.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
